Renowned Internet Experts Confirm Participation at Montevideo Meeting

Montevideo is preparing to welcome the Internet leaders from around the world that will visit Uruguay to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Addresses Registry, LACNIC, headquartered in the Uruguayan capital.

Among other prominent personalities from the Internet world, Vinton Cerf (Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google), Lynn St. Amour (President of the Internet Society), Marcos Galperín (CEO at MercadoLibre) and Patrik Fältstrom (Chair of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee), have confirmed their participation at the LACNIC XVIII event which will take place from October 28 to November 1st in Montevideo.

Together with other professionals of our region, several of these renowned experts will participate in various forums, workshops and seminars on the current situation and future perspectives for Information and Communication Technologies in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Montevideo meeting will be a great opportunity to celebrate LACNIC’s tenth anniversary and the recent opening of the Internet Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean (www.lacnic.net/en/casa-de-internet.html), a building that houses seven of the region’s major Internet organizations.
