In response to the demand of its associates and the permanent search in the improvement of its services, LACNIC offers a new Automated System for the Administration of Internet Resources.

The use of this system (using the EPP protocol) allows an appreciable improvement in the management and administration of the resources on the part of the associated organizations when carrying out sub-allocations to their customers, making the updating of the resources registration in an automated way.

According to the LACNIC policies, every sub-allocation of prefixes /29 and smaller should be registered in LACNIC's administrative system of resources. For some associated organizations this means an additional burden and duplication of work since it adds to the maintenance of the customers own internal records.

In order to minimize this task and to maintain these records up to date, LACNIC offers to its associates the Automated System for Administration of Resources (SARA). This system allows the synchronization of the information stored on the internal database of the associates with LACNIC's database.

As a first stage, a Beta version has been developed and made available to the community; that is why we invite you to participate by testing it and we request you to make us comments and contributions, which will enable us to make the adjustments and improvements of the system in its final version. Even though the use of this system is optional, we encourage all associated organizations to adopt its use.
