LACNIC, the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Address Registry, and SUPERTEL, Ecuador's Telecommunications Superintendent, are pleased to announce the agreement to hold the LACNIC XVII meeting in the city of Quito, Ecuador, on 6-11 May 2012.

This year, Latin America and the Caribbean's most important Internet event will visit Ecuador for the first time, bringing relevant discussions and major technical forums closer to the Ecuadorian community.

LACNIC XVII will set the stage for a meeting of the most important telecommunications companies and Internet service providers, as well as professionals, members of academia, government officials, and civil society representatives, who during their visit to Quito will be able to contribute to the discussions on key topics relating to the operation of the Internet within the region.

LACNIC XVII will undoubtedly be an event not to be missed.
