As part of the actions required for placing into operation the Resource Certification System - RPKI, LACNIC is presenting the Declaration Practice Statement (CPS) for its RPKI service to the community for its consideration. The Certification Practice Statement (CPS) is a document that specifies the practices that a Certificate Authority (CA) uses to issue certificates on its public key infrastructure (PKI).

In addition to general information relating to the CPS, the document contains a detailed description of how to submit comments and is available at: http://lacnic.net/en/rpki/cps/index.html

The first comment period will be open from December 1 to December 21, 2010. As a result of this first comment period, the CPS for the production RPKI system -- which will begin operating in January 2011 -- will be generated. However, it is expected that during 2011 the CPS document will undergo major changes to reflect the changing reality of standard documents regarding RPKI at the IETF and the operational modifications that the new system will require.
