LACNIC announces the assignment of new Autonomous System Numbers (ASN) of 32 bits, valid from January 1st, 2007.

The creation of these new ASN allows extending the quantity and therefore the global availability of this resource.

The assignment of these ASN is a result of the policy approved by the community during the LACNIC Public Forum in its last meeting that took place in Guatemala (LACNIC IX, May 2006).

The complete details of this policy and the request process are available in our page:

As part of the assignment process of these new ASN of 32 bits, on November 30th 2006, LACNIC received from IANA a set of ASN of 32 bits to be assigned in the region.
